The collection is an aggregation of various kinds of records dealing with several families especially the Young family, ancestors of President Harry S. Truman. The collection includes a 1931 letter heading with The Shepherd family and was primarily gathered together from 1955-1991. Ancestry of such leaders as Patrick Henry, Robert E. Lee and presidents Washington, Jefferson, Monroe, Harrison, Taylor, and Madison is cited in genealogical charts. An especially good photograph of Walter Ennis Lacy, Jr. of Halifax County, Virginia, killed during World War II, is included as well.
